Job Title:
Director of Engineering

Chatsworth, CA


Reporting To:
Chief Operating Officer

Primary Responsibilities:
The Director of Engineering (DoE) will have responsibility to provide the visible, strong leadership required to manage the day to day operation of the Aitech Defense Systems, Inc. (ADSI) Engineering Department.  The DoE will work with the Chief Operating Officer (COO) to clearly
  1. Document / improve the design and development process utilized at Aitech,
  2. Establish key metrics for monitoring and evaluating progress in the Engineering Department,
  3. Work with Program Managers to monitor progress and budget performance for the programs,
  4. Create development plans for all Managers and Engineers in the department to encourage continuous improvement, and
  5. Create a weekly status reporting system to brief the COO and other members of the ADSI management team. 
The DoE will define the required processed to ensure the Engineering Department maintains a leading edge technical approach to all activities.  The DoE will analyze the in-process and forecasted demands on the organization and implement plans to ensure the engineering group is adequately resourced with personnel and tools.  Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Department Leadership
    • Clear and consistent, on the floor leader of the engineering team.
    • Plan and directs all aspects of the company engineering and research and development policies, objectives and initiatives.
    • Provide expert technical guidance for engineering initiatives.
    • Lead the ADSI Engineering Management team
    • Provide department support and administrative functions.
  • Process Monitoring
  • Assure the effectiveness of the design process for Hardware Development, Software Design, and Systems testing and verification.
  • Identify and implement engineering process improvements.
  • Lead, direct and mentor engineering team managers and personnel.
  • Support in the recruiting of engineering department personnel.
  • Ensure that there are consistent, periodic activities in place that support and inform the engineering department personnel; including: department communication meetings; training in Aitech’s internal processes and procedures; and the organization of events that focus on team building.
  • Define proposal technical approach and provide technical write-up; identify cost estimates for Sales Pricing
  • Work with key engineers in group to author and publish “White Papers” and Technical Articles
  • Identify key personnel within the Engineering Organization that will provide technical support to other groups within Aitech.
  • Provide for the on schedule, smooth and orderly transition of new designs, bill of materials and documentation to operations.
  • Provide on-call Technical Support for Customer Interactions/Questions
  • Create systems to track the timely completion of internal failure analyses and corrective/preventative actions reports.
  • Summarize activities to conduct periodic analysis and monitoring for trends; recommend process improvements.

  • Previous experience on NASA programs desirable
B.S. in Electrical Engineering or M.S. in Electrical Engineering is required

Job Title:
Program Manager

Program Management

Reporting To:
Chief Operating Officer

Primary Responsibilities:
The Program Manager (PM) will provide management and leadership direction for the design, development, and manufacturing of Avionics hardware including Command and Data Handling (C&DH) Units and mission Computers.  These programs may be Customer defined or Internal Research and Development (IR&D) projects.  The PM shall perform the following duties: 1) Manage all activities associated with the Development, Manufacturing, and Qualification Testing for DOD & Aerospace Contracts, 2) support proposal preparation in conjunction with business development personnel, and 3) Determine program requirements, budget and program control mechanisms utilizing Earned Value Techniques to effectively track and measure results, schedules, expenditures, labor and other aspects of the program.
The PM acts as a primary interface between the customer, corporate team members, and partners providing regular status on achieving assigned program goals and objectives. The individual must be able to plan, organize, and manage multiple programs / projects of varying size and complexity and support the preparation of proposals in response to both commercial and government RFPs including cost, schedule, and technical inputs.  
Additional duties may include contract negotiations through contract award, presenting briefings to company and customer management, review and recommending process improvements for existing systems / products at Aitech, and preparation of business cases for new business.

Required Knowledge, Education, and Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience as a program, or project manager.
  • Excellent understanding of Microsoft Office products including Microsoft Project.
  • A BS degree in a related field (Engineering discipline preferred)
Recommended Experience:
  • Strong knowledge of Military, Aerospace, and Space programs and requirements.
  • Strong Team building and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster cross-functional teamwork among Engineering, Operations and Quality.
  • Ability to review customer Purchase Orders and Contract requirements with a focus on the implications for Aitech
  • Strong leadership skills with an ability to quickly assimilate new ideas and concepts and make good decisions for the program or project
  • Experience with Avionics and Control systems including integration of I/O products and embedded systems development will also be considered a plus.
  • Direct experience in the specification and control of the Printed Circuit Board artwork process and Printed Wiring Board fabrication
  • Effective written, verbal, presentation and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Document Control and Configuration Management procedures
  • Previous experience on Space Programs specifically with NASA is a plus.

Job Title:
Analog Electronic Engineer, MTS-IV

Reporting To:
Manager, Electronic Engineering


  • Responsible for the design, development and testing of new products as well as supporting existing products.
  • Responsible for concept Analog design, parts selection, design simulation, detailed design, schematic and PWB Design Rules creation
  • Support the layout of the cards, card level debug and verification.
  • Support integration of the cards into complete systems including working with Software, Firmware, and Mechanical Engineers
  • Support customers as they integrate our products into their systems.
  • Lead special Research & Development project activities or investigations within the Electronic Engineering discipline.
  • Lead and coordinate all activities necessary to complete a electrical engineering project
  • Manage and prioritize multiple simultaneous activities
  • Lead tasks to improve the overall design process
  • Minimum 5+ years of Analog Design experience with mil-spec or space  programs.
  • Solid analog design and debug skills
  • Experience with development tools for design capture, simulation, and debug.  In particular experience with OrCAD Schematic Capture, PSpice (Hyperlynx is a Plus)
  • Design experience with the following Analog Interfaces: RTDs, LVDTs, Unipolar and Differential ADCs, DACs, current sensing, different types of motor controls and servos is required. Synchro-Resolver interfaces experience is plus.
  • Design experience with DC to DC power supply (10-250W), 1kW+ is a plus.
  • Knowledge and experience with EMI/EMC principals and ESD and lightning protection is a plus
  • Familiarity with Worst Case circuit analysis, high reliability components, failure rate calculation principles, radiation effects (SEE and TID) on semiconductors is required.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently as well as cohesively within a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
BS degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) with MS desired.

Job Title:
Sales Administrator

Sales & Marketing

Reporting To:
VP, North America Sales & Marketing

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist and coordinate with regional business development managers to log quotations for the sale of new and existing products to potential and existing customer client base 
  • Work with marketing communications company to make periodic updates of the company web site with direction of the VP, Sales and Marketing
  • Update and maintain US/NA bookings report
  • Generate the weekly Sales and Marketing report from inputs from BD Managers
  • Facilitate the review and signature process for Non-Disclosure Agreements
  • Maintain customer correspondence file with relevant data, forms, and documentation as needed
  • Review new customer purchase orders to ensure accuracy with quotations
  • Coordinate US/NA trade shows and sales conferences
  • Attain established goals set by the direct-report manager
  • Other tasks and assignments as assigned 

 Recommended Experience: 

  • Ability to work in a team atmosphere
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Tools – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook/Exchange. Experience also with Microsoft Access is desired.

Recommended Education:
Associate’s degree in Marketing or a related field with equivalent proven experience

Special Requirements:
Able to work infrequently after hours on major proposals as required
