Job Title:
Systems Engineer, MTS-IV

Location
Chatsworth, CA

Director of Engineering

Summary:
Independent worker who can operate in a small company environment and lead special Research & Development project activities or investigations within the Electronic Engineering discipline. Manage and prioritize multiple simultaneous activities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for Systems Engineering tasks:
    • Requirements review, flow down and tracking
    • Interface design
    • Conduct Verification and Validation plan
    • Evaluate end-to-end verification to ensure the planning and compliance is sufficient and complete to meet the system level requirements.
    • Provide data and manages risk management (identifies potential risks and develops mitigation strategies) and trade study processes for a portion of a project.
    • Test definition, and qualification
  • Perform technical lead tasks:
    • Coordinating design efforts
    • Conducting design reviews
    • Releasing drawings
    • Organizing and tracking of system configuration and changes
    • Coordinate the development of the test programs including procedures, test equipment, and reporting.  Successful candidate will have and be proficient with Microsoft Office tools.
    • Coordinate activities of engineers within the Engineering Department and/or across Aitech programs and projects
  • Strong knowledge of embedded computing hardware, including PowerPC, Graphics, Comms and I/O and DSP applications
  • Prepare and present customer presentations, and participate in face to face customer discussions and negotiations regarding complex technologies
  • Develop technical solutions derived from technology building blocks
  • Use project scheduling tools to estimate the total cost of a development program
  • Strong communication skills

  • Electrical Engineering background
  • Understanding of signal integrity analyses a plus

Education:
BS EE Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science (and/or equivalent experience) with MS desired

Electronic Engineer, MTS-IV

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for FPGA functional allocation, design, simulation, synthesis, and place & route
  • Responsible for the design and development of new products as well as support existing products.
  • Concept development work with marketing, writing product specifications, test plans and VHDL coding
  • Responsible for concept digital design, parts selection, design simulation, detailed design, detailed analyses of the circuits, schematic and PWB Design Rules creation
  • Support the layout of the cards, card level debug and verification.
  • Coordinate activities of engineers within the Engineering Department and/or across Aitech programs and projects
  • Support customers as they integrate our products into their systems.
  • Lead special Research & Development project activities or investigations across all engineering disciplinesDirect and coordinate all activities necessary to complete a major electrical engineering project or several small projects

SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 10+ years of FPGA / Digital Design experience with mil-spec or space  programs
  • Actel FPGA / CPLD design experience required, Xilinx and Altera experience is a plus.
  • Experience with development & simulation tools for FPGA design simulation, and debug. In particular experience with ModelSim. OrCAD Schematic Capture and PSpice experience is a plus.
  • Solid digital / analog design and debug skills.
  • Knowledge of industry standard bus architectures such as PCI, PCI-X, PCIe is strongly desired, VME knowledge is a plus.
  • Good troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as cohesively within a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

EDUCATION:
BS degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) with MS desired.

Job Title
Electro/Mechanical Assembler - Inspector

Location
Chatsworth, CA

Operations

Reporting To: 
Director of Operations

Primary Responsibilities:
You will work in an exciting and fast-paced environment assembling or inspecting a variety of electronic and mechanical assemblies.  This could include Printed Wire Assemblies, Wire Wrap Assemblies, discrete component assemblies, wiring harness assemblies, cable assemblies, chassis enclosures, testers, and equipment rack assemblies. You will also oversee the maintenance of the lab and its tools.  Operations will be completed per approved instructions:

     •   Assembly, modification and rework or Circuit Card Assemblies and Mechanical Assemblies per Production Route Cards
     •   Wiring Test Equipment / Transition Modules / Cables using wire lists and or schematics.
     •   Constructing test systems in accordance with design drawings.

In addition to the performance of specific tasks described above you will perform inspection operations for work performed by other operators.  This may include incoming inspection of electrical components and machined hardware, populated and un-populated circuit boards, and complete assemblies. You will support first article inspections, source inspections, and assist with determining part inspection schedule to meet manufacturing schedules. 

Recommended Experience:

Minimum of Three (3) years in:
     •  Reading Schematics; electrical, mechanical, and illustrations / drawings and following verbal assembly instructions.
     •  Working in electro-mechanical environment
     •  Assembly and wiring of chassis, wire harnesses, test equipment, etc.
     •  Utilizing tools like torque wrenches, solder irons, continuity testers, calipers, pin extraction tool, wire crimpers.
     •  Certification to IPC-610 and J-STD-001 is preferred
     •  Experience with gages and measurement tools including: CMM or Video measuring equipment, Height gage, Calipers,
        Micrometers, Pin, Plug, Ring, and Thread gages.
     •  Ability to read and interpret complex detailed control drawings, Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and
        Tolerancing),
     •  Knowledge of multi-layer circuit board manufacturing
     •  Knowledge of MRB, ESD practices and MRP systems,

Additional training will be provided as necessary to ensure that the assigned responsibilities are adequately met.

Recommended Education: 
   
• Associates Degree Preferred

Special Requirements:

Reading Schematics, following assembly instructions, wiring, using torque wrenches, solder irons, etc.
Certified to J-SDT-001
Certified to IPC-610
